Pakistan‍‍`s Deputy High Commissioner in Bangladesh narrowly escaped major accident

Qamar Abbas Khokar, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan assigned to Bangladesh, survived a road accident in Brahmanbaria along with his family. His private car collided head-on with a speeding bus. At that time the High Commissioner himself was driving the private car. 

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway on the north side of Rampur Bridge of Bijaynagar Police Station at around 11:30 am today. 

High Commissioner‍‍`s wife Rehena Sarwar, daughter Miss Huda Abbas Khokar, son Mohammad Khokar were in the car at that time. They were slightly injured.

Confirming the matter, Khatihata Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Akul Chandra Biswas said that Qamar Abbas Khokar was going to Sreemangal from Dhaka. On reaching the north side of Rampur Bridge, their private car collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound Duranta Paribahan bus. At this time, the High Commissioner and his family narrowly escaped a major accident.

The highway police officer added, “The deputy high commissioner was driving the car himself. He is slightly injured. Nothing major happened. Everyone including the family narrowly escaped with their lives. The bus was seized and helper Md. Saiful Islam (30) has been detained. The driver fled. Legal action is under process in this matter.”
